Humanity - A strange word It encompasses all All of us who live here Can't listen to 'just one' call The World is full of everything Love - Hate - Peace and War People full of harmony Others who try to score Another oxymoron To which our lives digress How can another human Hurt just to impress? We are one clan together Under one big sky Why can't we be happy? And let divisions go by We're split into our sections Politics, Race and Faith Within them subdivided Humanity hard to trace It may seem idealistic To hope that at some time Our world could be 'all peaceful' Completely free of crime Perhaps the word 'Humanity' Should be the first we learn So future generations Will give World peace a turn Humanity is all of us Living together as one Breaking down the obstacles That stop us getting on So next time you see this word Or use it in your life Think about it's meaning Of Xanadu not strife It's up to us to change it Each and every one For every time that someone does The first steps have begun .....
