Love Is A Two-Way Street

By Einstein on Crack

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Love is a two-way street It must be given As well as accepted Too many times in our lives The love we wish returned For a moment of need That has been previously given Is not reciprocated Some people have found it Two-way traffic On a road to happiness There are those who are still travelling Down one-way systems On the wrong side of town Looking for the right turning That will bring them the joy That they richly deserve It’s there – Somewhere No map will guide the way For those of us searching We have no route-finder Searching down blind-alleys Praying that this time Our path is true Getting our hopes dashed Then suddenly! Crash! Stars collide! Heaven appears Happiness complete But that isn’t me I’m still driving Down roads and alleys The tank is still full Waiting … Hoping … Praying … Stop! Wait a minute What’s this? Another road to try … Maybe this time Maybe not Let’s give it a try Copyright © Andy..Harding Written January 20th, 2002 © on Jan 20 2002 08:41 AM PST, Andy Harding   0 • 8
