Just Wondering

The wealthy and famous..... I wonder if... they know the meaning of charity their heart bleed to the poor and needy they shed tears when they are sad they know the real meaning of love! How fortunate are they..... but I wonder if... they believe in the power of prayer that it begets miracles they care about their surroundings since they only deal with kings and queens! I wonder if... they ever really worked for a living they ever dirtied their delicate hands doing things they ever give a d*mn besides their precious caviar and vintage wines! I wonder if... they care to know that in some far away lands, wars are raging they know that the powerless were oppressed that lives are lost, victims of greed! I wonder if... they have time to recognize the beauty of the rising sun they have time to smell a blooming rose, its fragrance they have time to feel the freshness of the evening breeze invigorating the soul of the weary, a bliss! I wonder if... they fail to heed the call of the spirit they shorn of all the rhetoric and obfuscation of life they lead into untold heights of greatness and dignity to be anathema of history! I wonder if... they know the feeling to be hungry with just a can of beans for a day they know how frigid are the winter nights sleeping without blankets under bridges and cold benches on public parks!
