The Kid Cries and Lies with His Tears

By fredhib

The kid cries and lies with his tears The kid cries and lies with his tears Delighted to perform And sob for the world shrunk-to-fit pin-hole-camera-lens mediocrity In tinselled-truth street-dance-theatre media-feeding frenzy Told to be what they expect to see Not the person you aspire to be And to shock,  (But - just a little), their sensitivity While TV dinner-time family shakes prefabricated taste from HP bottled sauce  And that evening’s news is reduced to a whisper and a flicker of a picture Of a kid who cries and lies with his tears.
