Christmas Joy

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

COME LET US ADORE HIM 'twas how the choir began Building into crescendoes with joyful noise across the land Though we hear of nations' wars and then more wars as told in rumors After standing to praise our God we shared Christmas cookies and thankful humor Ah the choir did sing with glee sending warmth high on snow-capped summits Up and over the pieces of music melodies danced gaily without limits Our congregation eased into peace while hearing each word of SILENT NIGHT As we began searching beyond the sadness of September 11th and its fright We listened to the melody. . . O CHRISTMAS TREE, O CHRISTMAS TREE And then we heard, O HOLY NIGHT with faithful words, FALL ON YOUR KNEES Oh how our church's choir did capture Christmas's meaning during the hour Though terror did strike our nation we were reminded of Christ's great power WONDERFUL COUNSELLOR we did hear throughout the Hallelujah chorus Thrilling us with God's magnificent love... on anyone else we could not focus Exiting church doors with newfound faith we met outside, hugged, and then we hurled Lighting candles in wintry weather singing with peace and joy...Joy To The World.
