in my car...

Facing the daily toil of driving to work In the midst of the traffic of a six-lane highway I stop to the brake lights of the car in front Stuck in the midst of all these cars Stuck in the midst of all these people Chanced upon by this moment Shared the frustrations and nonchalance The lady on my left with eyes fixated on the car in front of her …. Hanging tightly to her steering, in depth of thoughts or void To my right, the driver chatted busily on his mobile phone …. He’s into himself somewhere else The man in front adjusting his tie in his rear view mirror …. Never here but in his hands …. Briefly touched as our eyes meet As my left foot tiredly hung to my clutch Jerking my car as I attempt to inch forward …. I feel so alone.
