Frozen Heart
My eyes have lost their once passionate gaze And my hands have lost the urge to hold and touch another Blood that once flowed to my heart so pure Froze solid the instant you decided to love another I awake in the morning And though the sun may shine it's glorious rays into my home It cannot free my heart from it's frigid cage Nor take away my condition of forever being alone Every breath from my lungs that I exhale Is a cold hard wind of pain And every time I see them disappear into the air It only reminds me of how my love was given in vein My Saddend Heart was once the color of the reddest most beauiful rose Until it was stricken with Rejection and Loss For now it is frozen for eternity and slowly dying As if it had been crucified upon a holy cross The veins in my body are no longer active They are only battlescars to show where I was hit with deadly force The old saying held true here When it said to kill something You must take it out at the heart which is it's origin and source So here I shall remain shivering and shaking Until the last chapter of my life has been written It will say that I loved with reckless abandon And died because my heart was lonely and to badly frostbitten Written February 28th, 2002 © on Dec 14 2002 08:28 AM PST 0 • 1
