An Ode To Warriors-Traveler's Tale 53
By Gunslinger
Ah, 'tis a pleasant thing indeed-To gaze across the 'eath...An' ken the bones o' fightin' men-That's restin' underneath. To ken tha' they all lie at rest-No more the blades to bear...An' in Valhalla's 'allowed hallsTheir laurels do they wear. They paid the toll wi' blood, aye, ladAfore some foreign 'orde-For Charon's toll is steep indeed-When Styx we 'ave to ford. When evenin' falls, folks cringe in fear-Fra' the tramp o' marchin' feet-In in yon shadows one can 'ear-The drums o' battle beat. An' Wallace, Bless 'is sainted name!Again 'is claymore wields-An' ye can 'ear the clash o' blades-A ringin' on the shields. An inn is near, I must be off-To wander other trails-An' if the company is good-I'll spin me Traveler's Tales.
