At Night In My Dreams

By Gunslinger

"At Night In My Dreams" I hung up my riggin', I laid it all down. I've spent my last entries on fruitless go 'rounds. I'm nearly fifty, and too old it seems- But I'm still a champion at night in my dreams. At night in my dreams, I'm still ridin' them high! My spurs on my boots, hooking holes in the sky. I thrill to the lights, and the dirt, and the screams... And I'm still a champion at night in my dreams. For twenty-two years I went "down the road"- I rode some good horses, sometimes I got throwed... My wife finally gave up on all of my schemes, But I'm still the champion, at night in my dreams. At night in my dreams, I am rolling in dough- A champ on a roll in the Pro Rodeo... On top in the standings with all of the cream- Yes, I'm still a champion, at night in my dreams.
