Duty

By Gunslinger

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Torn by my emotions- I want to run away... My heart tells me to flee the scene But duty bids me stay. What a master, Duty- No matter how we feel... The harsh whip of our concsience... Still brings us all to heel. The hasty, rash decisions- Bind us all through life... Like vows to be a husband, Or vows to be a wife. The world lies in confusion... More often strife than beauty... How much worse off, our world would be If not for sense of duty. Written January 1st, 2002 © on Jan 01 2002 07:14 AM PST, John R. Yaws   0 • 10
