Now That You Are Gone

By Gunslinger

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Your memories play my heartstrings- Like the angels play their harps... A muted compilation... Of mingled flats and sharps... So sweet the hours that we had... So sad, the parting day... To change our dreams of sunshine, In a cloudy, dreary way. “I miss you” never will express- The longing in my heart. Nor the way the hours drag like years- Since we have been apart. “I love you” sounds so shallow- In view of how I groan... But that is all that I can say... Now that you are gone.
