Outside, Looking In
By Gunslinger
Today I stopped to think awhile- Evaluate my life. Relationships I have at home, With children and my wife... Love? I wonder what that is? Why do we all pretend? I am the loneliest of all... I'm outside, looking in. I used to be a drifter- Footloose and fancy free... The siren call of wanderlust- Once placed her hold on me... I am alone, with company- Without a single friend, My home's the place I hang my hat- I'm outside looking in... I miss the lonely desert- The Arizona sky... I miss the Rocky Mountains... Their grandeur wild and high... I hear the wild geese calling... Their brother to the wind... I long to spread my wings and fly- I'm outside, looking in.
