Sometime Love Must Die

By Gunslinger

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

I thought about my feelings- Then I tried to sort them out. To put my thoughts in order... Find out what life's all about. Was what we, lightly, once called love- A real and lasting thing? Or was it merely passion? A flighty, passing fling? Then I recalled the tear drops- The heartache and the loss, When at last I realized- The line I must not cross... I'm sorry that I hurt us- I fully take the blame... There was a time or two I woke... Up. Calling out your name. I'm glad that we're still speaking- Though we can feel the strain- We keep our conversation light, To keep from causing pain... It's best to let the old wounds heal- Let sleeping problems lie... But still it is a tragedy- That sometime love must die. Written April 8th, 2002 © on Apr 08 2002 12:33 PM PST, John R. Yaws   0 • 10
