The Day I Ceased to Dream

By Gunslinger

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

I used to dream of romance- The perfect match, you know? The Prince meets Cinderella, Ah, but that was long ago. I dreamed of fame and fortune- A home, a happy life... Some healthy, happy children, A faithful, loving wife- I dreamed of grand adventure, A hero I would be- Alas, I finally realize... I'm stuck with being me. I had my share of fantasies- They disappeared like steam, I knew my life was over, The day I ceased to dream. Written December 22nd, 2001 © on Dec 21 2001 03:25 PM PST, John R. Yaws   0 • 10
