Walk Through This Life Alone

By Gunslinger

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

I guess sometimes decisions- Are made for us by fate. Destroying our visions... With mocking jests, "Too late"! Sometimes the things we thought we had, All vanish with the dawn... As we sit and ponder, feeling sad- Around us life goes on. We will not make a ripple- On the surface of life's pond. As we slip beneath, for ever... While all eyes look on...beyond. For beyond this vale of sorrow- I wonder what does wait? It won't be much improvement, If we go by form to date. I think the man is freest- Who has no one who cares. Or ever worries o'er him- Or wonders how he fares. Those days of youthful fancy- I fell victim to are gone, I guess it's finally settled- I'll walk through this life ...alone.
