Dead Roses

By Halocination

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

I don't know why you still keep all those roses I gave them to you so long ago You don't act like they mean anything At least I can't tell anymore All there is each day is another reason Why I should go away I've come to realize what you think of me I'm just any other guy No longer the special one That brought you roses and smiles I'm not that handsome guy anymore And my roses aren't as pretty as the ones before But what hurts the most Is that you keep my love in an old shoebox In the corner of the closet With all those dead roses, And never let me see it anymore Written February 19th, 2002 © on Feb 19 2002 10:27 AM PST   0 • 8
