Rain
By Halocination
On rainy days I become one with the storm My tempest grows and tornadoes somber flights into mystical places My rains water the hillsides and wash blades of grass Lightening strikes my gaze at naked thoughts, At peripheral emotions that have been released without constraint Uncontrolled to rampage the unwary hearts of lovers lay bare Lovers with open minds and naked hearts begging for love’s descent Begging to endure the purgatory that is love’s embrace I thunder replies at the naked thoughts that come to light And they shudder like little children and hide under their beds They cannot bear to look at the eyes of the storm They don’t see its smiling face, and stern brow, The black hair that shades the clouds Clouds that carry millions of drops of emotions to wash away all… To drench those walking the streets fretting in lonely passage Soaking the heads of unsheltered and unprepared travelers. The rain and I are one, When I cry I bring tears to the eye of the storm And the sheets of torrential rain are my coat that flies widely, wildly free In the wake of my flight through never before navigated sky As I storm my way high above the parched and yearning valleys The infertile lands become watered, and dust is washed away New hope, new life and new love The storm and I, we do not need the sun to light our way We have bolts of electric thoughts connecting between our axons And our dendrites branch out to unfathomable extremes Maybe I’m twisted, maybe dementia has set in But this storm will rage on and shower on earth dwellers Until I find a way to rain on Jupiter and Mars, Neptune, Venus and Uranus Until I find a way to pour my rains on the sun, and extinguish the blinding rays That hide the truth, because the best place to hide something is in the open The best lie is one mixed with truth But the truth always comes out no matter where you hide it In the depths of the ocean I will evaporate the waters and fill my clouds I will find the truth under waves of lies and doubt That’s why I like the rain because I believe it washes away the old And all things are new, the hope of life is realized all over again So today, tomorrow forever, let it rain, Copyright 2001 AllisterLet it Rain...
