This Rose

By Halocination

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

I give you this rose today To symbolize our journey under way The long and sometimes crooked stem Is the path we hopefully travel to its end The leaves are those things that help us along Like God, friends; whatever makes us strong The thorns are trials we must overcome So later we can be happy of where we're from I know that there are less leaves than thorns But I promise to stay through sunshine and storm I will be with you at every bend, I will help you decide at every branch or stem At the end of the road is a beautiful flower That will only bloom at the right hour It will announce our ultimate arrival That you and I made it to a love that can survive all.
