Thanksgiving in Union

By Harmony

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

It would be preferable for me to starve, than try to eat Aunt Lenda's lard. Sometimes I'd just rather die, than try to eat Granny's pot pie. Mushy carrots in orange juice really make me want to puke. Soggy okra and rotting chili, to make me eat this is simply silly. The dumplings smell like a septic tank, and I'm sure the ham is fake. The dressing is made of stale bread crumbs, from liver and giblets I always run. Just thinking about that vegetable soup, makes my stomach turn a loop. No more butter beans, I can't take it anymore! Just buy that turkey at the store! So forget the fruit cocktail, and boiled broccoli too, next time I'll eat Thanksgiving dinner with YOU!!!!!!!
