Ireland's Green Magic

By IfOnlyLifeWereFair

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

I stand on the green, rolling hills of Ireland and breathe in the fresh  air of the morning. I take a drink of the cool water from my cantine. It was cold and satisfying all the way down.  I hear the wonderful brook bubbling just beyond the old cobblestone road. The butterflies were fluttering around furiousl;y and I saw a rainbow that was large and extrordinarily colorful . I had no desire to see what was at the end of it because the little green people deserved to keep their gold. They are peaceful, nature loving creatures that have lived here for thousands of years. I think of them quite often when I want some company because they know and one of them will apear. One day a beautiful green woman leprachaun showed up to keep me company. Her hair was an Irish red and her cute little pointed ears were pieced with gorgeous blue jewels. Her name was Angela and I had never seen anyone quite like her. She wore a red sequined dress that glistened in the sun like diamonds. Her smile would melt any demon's heart. I was attracted to her in every way. The way she would plant a kiss on my cheek and her timy green hands and her funny little giggle. She was extremely beautiful and her sweetness was like nothing I had ever seen. I fell in love with her. I wanted her to be mine forever. So one fine day i got down on one kneee and asked her to be my bride. She turned a shade darker and tears rolled down her small cheeks. She told me that I couldn't possibly love her because of her size. I told her that I didn't care about that at all. Then I asked her again. She just smiled and said " Then it is done my love." She snapped her fingers and a bright blue light came down and covered her like a large and vivid blanket. The blanket shattered and  I saw the most beautiful Irish rose in all the world. She transformed into a beautiful creamy skinned woman. She had the same red hair and her dress was the smae too. We went off into the sunset together. Now I am happily married to a beautiful woman. She was put under a spell because her father was worried about her being so gorgeous that the wild men would ravage her if she did not want them. Now the spell was broken and she was with me and today we roam the hills together and make love in the moonlight.I hope you like this story because I decided to write something happy for once Written April 9th, 2002 © on Apr 09 2002 08:44 AM PST   0 • 8
