Teenage Grown
By Jimmy
Teenage Grown As she grows before my eyes, I see the past, her little cries, In days she felt, all was lost, when dad would be, the only boss, There was no other, in her life, just me and Mom, who was my wife, No other guy to steal her heart, just simple dad, that did his part, How times change, these teenage days, no more talks, or ego praise, Just not there, like before, too busy running, out the door, There's always plans, to be foreseen, she's grown into a beauty queen, I thought I knew all my fears, now I know, why bars serve beers, This precious child, that we've raised, adds to age, these final days, When life should be a simple stroll, we fight off looks, which takes its' toll, Then when you think, all is lost, they come to you, the once been boss, To tell how you've made their life, without your words, no way is right, That is when, you finally know, you did your best, must let her go, To find her way, throughout the world, to know her love, your little girl. © J Fossier 1/01 Written January 1st, 2001 © on Dec 04 2001 10:24 AM PST 18 • 0 • 8
