Speak Out

Black lifeless eyes Surveying her world Where is that child? The innocent girl Shut is her mind To the cold light of day Praying these nightmares Would just go away Her innocence taken Without thought or a care Can he sleep at night? Without chills or nightmares She knows she should speak Her tale is to tell But her family know nothing Of this foreboding hell For years she has blamed Herself for this fate She must have done something When she turned 8 She cried every night Prayed hard to be good So the hurting would stop Oh how she wished she understood Oh please God! No more She silently cried As he entered her room With arms open wide She remembered it all The hurting and lies This time it must end They would hear her cries Written October 21st, 2001 © on Oct 20 2001 08:50 PM PST   0 • 1
