Frozen Love
By KozMic BluEs
I have in my hand a frozen red rose. It is laying there in my palm, beautiful, perfect. The icey droplets of water, stuck firm to the leaves. The stem, crisp, like a green wafer. But then I slowly close my hand, so very, very slowly. And I crush the rose. I hear it crackle. I hear it snap. I feel the sharp ice stabbing into my hand. It was forever preserved in an icey shell. But the shell is broke now. Just like my heart. The rose is dead. Just like our love. The rose is gone. Just like you. You ice queen, dressed in black, Sling your robe, across your back. Stab me with your ice knife there, Freeze me still with icey stare. The rose is gone now. Just like you.I think I shall request all of my poems to be on critical request, a nuisance to some perhaps, but I enjoy the response. Maybe just the first 4/5 to 'get the ball rolling' so to speak... Written March 2nd, 2002 © on Mar 01 2002 10:49 PM PST 0 • 8
