Horsemen Of The Neihr
By KozMic BluEs
The great horsemen of the Neihr. Roam the open plains of my mind. They gallop across the vast white sands. Leaving footprints far behind. Across the great dunes of the never. Around the mountains of Seihn. Far beyond the gentle seas. The horsemen come to Brehn. They stay in Brehn for night is near. But tomorrow they shall part. For the journey towards Avalon. Is nonstop from the start. Dawn awakes their sleepfilled heads. They rise and mount their rides. A fond fairwell, a parting smile. Into the vast they ride. Under the shelter of a great Norse tree. The horsemen drink and laugh. The storm is fierce it will last for days. And there isn't time enough. Hours have passed. And weary they do grow. The deadline they must meet. Cannot be altered, no. Far beyond the storm. A light is shining bright. The horsemen see it from their camp. They'll saddle up tonight. Torrential rain, the downpour strong. The men must venture forth. They ride towards the shining light. Their course is set, due north. Closer now, the rain does ease. But it has not fully stopped. The horses wet and tired now. Their legs are caked in mud. The horsemen climb off their rides. And decide to let them go. They venture forth towards the light. But now they go so slow. Closer than before. Closer than can be. The men are all exhausted. From their treacherous journey. An angel shining brightly. Upon a rock she sits. A halo on her head. Her wings magnificent. She flys towards the heavens. Leaving but a trail of fire. They made it just in time. These great horsemen of the Neihr.February 2002, I request critical reading, as this is the first one I am to publish on this site.
