Hushed Alcove

By KritterKat

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Marbled alcove hushed within arched hallsEmbrace stone tablets edging the walls.Like blood, ancient script flows as the rainsEthereal glow dusts through leaded panesIn the first few hours of morning’s lightThe tablets awaken from eternal nightScript now flesh to tongues long stilledUnsinging, yet voiced, mysteries fulfilled.Too few hours given to precious sounds,Specters encircle the surrounding grounds.Knowing a dead leaf stirring makes a crash,Turning voiced mysteries to lifeless ash.
