StarLight
By KritterKat
Abandoned and sad the little lighthouse stands,Accompanied only by the rocks and the sands.Once its beacon warned all who sail the wavesOf every peril that could take them to their graves. The Wee Ones lament the lighthouse’ present stateThus they scheme to change the beacons sorry fate. With great skill and cunning they caught a falling star,Took it to the lighthouse in a beveled crystal jar.Up the winding staircase giggling with gleeGlancing out the windows at the inky seaHappily the lighthouse accepts the sparkling light,Its’ prism once again illumines the darkest night. The Wee Ones rejoice beneath the brilliant glow,While mermaids sing within their coral chateaus.
