A Soldier's Plea

By LadyLeBlanc

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

I'm waiting for the day when the sun will join the sea For though I cannot stay, you said you'd marry me. How I'd much rather be still safe by your side. The morn I'd rather see, is the one when you're my bride. Our country is in trouble dear, and dark is the night. The time is drawing near when I must go and fight. Hon, please know I love you, and I'll be home soon. Whenever you get lonely, look up at the moon. All answers must be found, and all victories won. If I don't quickly come around then you'll know it's done. But whenever you get lonely, look at the moon and see my face looking down at you..... Please, dear, pray for me.I wasn't going to add this one to the site, mostly because I feel like it is NOT one of my best at all, BUT a friend of mine MADE me do it. So I hope you're happy Angela! :-P Written October 29th, 2000 © on Dec 21 2001 03:17 AM PST, Kaleigh Naylor   10 • 0
