Liar's Den

By LadyPoet

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

I awake from slumber screaming cold sweat trickling down my face Haunting images distorted and dark souls of deceivers standing in place Hearts are cold and void of love eyes fixed in an emotionless stare I want to reach out and touch them but my fear tells me I do not dare What is this forsaken place before me? who are these souls lost in despair? As I turn to run you are among them the reality is more than I can bear All the traits I had come to love were just props in a one man show This dark and desolate liar's den is where you were destined to go My heart bleeds from pain inflicted my cries echo throughout the night I realize now this is not a dream and another lie cannot make it right Written October 12th, 2001 © on Oct 12 2001 01:33 PM PST   18 • 0 • 8
