Final Adieu
By LemonChaos
I can't explore the world from inside my cell I can't lie to myself and say that I'm well I may fool the world but I'll never fool me I'll never quite see the way others will see My life is my own but I choose not to live I take what I get but I get what I give All alone, screaming from within "I'll never give up, but I'll never win" Life is a lesson that we all must learn The flames of desire are easy to burn Love letters written and love letters lost Life is not worth the ungodly cost Take as you get, easy to receive Anyone and everyone once will deceive No one can really be called a true friend Everyone will be alone in the end Alone I shall be, alone I am now Won't ask myself why, won't ask myself how A last letter typed, a last page has turned The candle of life has finally burned Take me down, don't follow me past The weeds have grown tall, get lost in the grass A final adieu before I must part An echo of me shall remain in your heartJust something I needed to write. Another one will probably come soon, I've hit a poetry streak. November, 2001. Written November 22nd, 2001 © on Nov 22 2001 11:32 AM PST, Julianna Taylor-Mulder 0 • 1
