I Still
By Leylia
but there are still times when i feel that pulse, that dizzying stream of consciousness from which flows every word of every poem written for love and yet to be composed for happiness in it, which forgets to remind me to remind myself to remember to breathe; which stops my heart for one, two, three beats at a time and i feel it will burst from the intense heat and pressure of your voice, your touch, your lips, your own heart; which detaches my head from my spine and lets it hover there above my body, writhing and rolling there in the anguish of our physical distance yet intellectual and emotional closeness; it smiles in mild bemusement at this chaotic, torturous scene below it, and silently and calmly reminds me that we will be together soon.
