Belief

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

This was inspired by an actual event that occurred and witnessed by many in Sedona, Arizona in 1987 during what was referred to as The Harmonic Convergence. Where are all those people going, daddy? To the top of the mountain, Bobby; Why are they going there? To wait for their mother ship; Are they going somewhere? They believe they are going on a trip; Why are they taking off their clothes? They believe they won’t need them anymore; Daddy, they are giving away all their money and cars – Just like on those game shows; Yes, Bobby, they believe they don’t need them anymore; Next day, son and father walked by the mountain again, It was covered with children, women, and men; Daddy, why are those people still there? Because they can’t go anywhere; But, daddy, you said they were leaving! No, Bobby, I said they believed they were going; They gave away their homes and possessions – Believing they were headed into other dimensions; But, daddy, why would they believe something not true? Because belief is powerful, even in you; You mean like Santa Claus, daddy? Yes, that’s what I mean, Bobby; So is belief only “make-believe”? No, Bobby, but our hearts must tell us, or we are deceived; So, why didn’t those people listen to their hearts? Because their minds were tricked and pulled apart; From their hearts, daddy? Yes, Bobby, and now they wander in darkness sadly; Forever, daddy? Perhaps not, Bobby; If they listen to the voice that speaks within, They will turn from the voices causing a din; Will they still have belief, daddy? Yes but more, Bobby; For their minds will hear their hearts, And know truth; that’s where it starts. Written February 8th, 2002 © on Feb 08 2002 10:32 AM PST   0 • 13
