Soulmates
By Linrose
Last night, I felt your touch ~ Sweet kiss of nectar on my lips, We barely know each other, as such ~ Yet, from love’s cup we’ve taken a few sips; Your voice, so soothing, is a mere hint of the depth of your soul, to which your words transported me; Your spirit’s fire has burned my breath ~ And silenced my mind, so that I may see with my inner eyes, the simple truth of your being ~ And the radiant beauty of your heart; I felt myself floating, as if I were dreaming ~ To a place deep inside you, that’s set apart from the person which the world sees ~ Your secret temple wherein lies your core ~ A place to where you are brought humbly to your knees; I have felt and seen this part of you before ~ When my own Self has met yours ~ Stripped of the layers of physical illusion, Those times, when we have met at death’s doors ~ And our souls have loved without confusion. Most times we forget the pure love we felt as spirits, But find glimpses when we pass each other in life once more; Then comes a life when we may be blessed and hear it ~ The echo of our souls’ song, playing dimly in the roar of life’s discordant music, in the past, distorting our minds, leading us to fear it ~ The triumphant blare of pure harmony, which dares to seize us and cut through to our beings ~ To reawaken our deepest memory of a love unlike no other, to give our lives meaning; All this I felt and wonder if the wait ~ Is finally over for my soul’s mate.Written on January 4, 1994 © on Feb 09 2002 10:39 AM PST love
