I. A new light Interferes with the known darkness Painful sight takes the place Of a serene night That light becoming my guide I'm forced out of my sanctuary Into the cold world II. Finally The climb Is done The arduous ascent Behind me Overcoming all adversity I reach the peak The sun above me The world below I stand on my shadow Hiding it from view Triumphant to this point Only my journey down Remains III.
