On the Ice
The lights flashed The specks of dust fluttered through the stale air The eyes watched anxiously My breath hastened It's mist rising before my eyes My hands trembled In my own mother's hands Then she let go And I made my way out Alone and frightened Out of place But this is where I practiced Though it doesn't feel the same It's the eyes They frighten me The music starts It flows through me It carries me through And gives me confidence Each jump they gasp Each turn they sigh They are now in love With my soft movements I no longer feel their eyes I no longer an alone I no longer feel afriad This is where I'm supposed to be The music stops I feel empty This is my home Where I belong On the Ice...
