Vortex

By Lylorn

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

a swirling vortex surrounds me, as i struggle 'gainst the surging currents, at time i find mys'elf in the calm center, and my soul drinks in the serenity... yet soon i return to the torment. the vortex's end, holds my destiny. my journey began long, long ago... as i took the hand of one, who walked this path, but alas: too late! her time was short. and the path we shared, soon became mine, evermore... and alas! this now lonely path is mine. but i can not tarry long, to wait for that hand. my path calls me: it will not wait. and so, nor can i... long now my path has been entangled within the vortex. soon i hope, this vortex will be behind me. soon i fear, this vortex will be behind me. for i do not know what unskewed reality awaits, upon the other side...Any comments welcome.
