Meteoric

By Lynxear

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

It was a night teeming with magic, Black sky filled with diamonds so fine. The moon with a veil all around her; A blush, not her bright normal shine. The fall air was crisp and icy, Frost showing in each muffled breath. I felt the presence and quiet abound, As if watching Act I of Macbeth. My thoughts turned to you so far away And a meteor did suddenly appear, Streaking its way across the sky, I wished you were by my side, dear. Musing on you in this wonderland Filled the night sky with streaks of fire. How I wished I could share this spectacle That mimicked my heart felt desire. To witness the glory and splendor Just the thought of you had brought to pass Made me wonder at what is important in life And how the fates had led me to you, lass. The spectacle finally ended, I retreated to my sheltered abode. My thoughts were on you so far away I treasure this whole episode.
