Playing Solitaire

By Maureen

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

~ While conversing with a friend about this poetry site, I talked about the stars we get for the poems we write. I said, "I make a list of those who comment on my poetry, so that I can do for them what they did for me." Then he made a comment that didn't seem quite fair, He said, "Sounds to me like you're playing solitaire." Ever since I heard those words, I haven't felt the same, wondering if what I'm doing amounts to no more than a game. Sitting here making comments, (Are they being read?) Starting to believe the words he said... playing solitaire. ~ Written November 17th, 2001 © on Nov 17 2001 05:45 AM PST, Maureen Halasovski    0 • 10
