Tomorrow
By Mouse Poet
As I lay down to sleep under the soft moonlit sky, I start remembering the times of long since past. I remember of a time when I first found you. You were as a broken vessel lying in fragments of emotion. You were as a wilting flower with dew drops falling from your soft petals. My heart cried out for you. I gathered you into my arms and I placed you under my wing. I proceeded to build you up and strengthen your emotions. I raised you up high into the air... and you flew away. I called out for you, but you didn't come back. My heart cried once again. I remember the loneliness, the anguish, the despair, that swallowed every inch of my sanity. The tears of sadness would flow like a river from my heart, drowning me in utter sorrow. Nothing else mattered to me anymore. Nothing. I remember when I finally found you again. All the tortures of my mind were instantly forgotten. Just the sight of your beauty made my mind grasp for a hope that was only dreamed about. Just the sound of your voice made my very soul melt into a pool of relaxation. I remember all of the many joyful times that followed from that moment. Then as I prepare to sleep, I turn and lay on my side, and I place my arm around your waist. And I start dreaming of all the blessings that tomorrow will bring. This was supposed to be Act Four. It pretty much covers from Act Two and on. This is the final piece in this series. Written January 1st, 2002 © on Jan 01 2002 12:52 PM PST 18 • 0 • 8
