Stage Presence

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

As the swelting heat rose and the spotlight blinded me a sense of surreal dreams possessed me It is moments such as these that a single quality of life resides There I was living in the presence of every stranger They gazed upon me as my foreign face connected into their world All of their worlds. And I stood there, relieved by their applauses and cheers. My existance was welcomed by their smiles and laughter Gratitiude was followed by tears... The quantity of roses grew and I proceeded to hold them closer to my heart as well as my dreams Out of the multitude to me, in this bliss of glory and grace, The curtains were then drawn. My co-conspirators had flown and I stood again... an average joe with a story. Written March 19th, 2002 © on Mar 19 2002 01:32 AM PST   0 • 10
