The truth we seek but rarely find For the fabric of life within us it binds Down the long winding road That we travel in time, We're so caught up, Involved, That veracity's lost. What's the truth behind life, And its tender embrace That beacons us follow With the seed of our race? How can reason transcend, All the pain that life blends, Into each textured soul, Whose deep grave seems it's goal? But this quest is well hid, At the meal which we're bid, To drink deep of life draft; To kill fatted calf. For we're born with greed, Thus compelled to feed; Does our futile reflection, Only aid our digestion? Written September 26th, 2001 © on Sep 26 2001 03:18 AM PST 0 • 10
