Today
As the fire that we know dwindles, Through all the industrial swindles, We search for a purer source, Of light, warmth and energy. Each day of the search, We lose more ground, To our imminent final call. Each day of which, We find more pain, Yet with it joy we gain, For each day removes, The fret we feel, Of our negated worth. Responsibility, the burden therewith Is lifted and we're freed. So circumvent, why can we not? And live just in that day, Though we fear death, Ours and our kind, It only happens once, One day, the day time fades away. And when, and if, life does die out, Then shall it go unnoticed? The truth that life did once exist Is spread at speed of light. Written November 28th, 2001 © on Nov 27 2001 11:12 PM PST 0 • 10
