After You Died
By Nici
The evening was going well We were on our third glass of cabernet, I feared I would soon run out of things to say. I began to notice his crooked mustache And the way he chewed his food, It was going to take an act of congress to get me in the mood. I thought about him naked and thought of his embrace, I tried to see us together but I could not see his face. The conversation was boring He spoke of computers, stocks, and taxes, If I had a knife I would've given myself several lashes. Something made me think of you as he shut his mouth long enough to graze, I knew if you were watching, you'd be rolling in your grave. If you could have seen me with this asshole and listened to his conservative views, you would have wanted to spit at him and yank him by his shoes. A terrible hacking cough brought on by tobacco and undigested food, interrupted my personal, internal conversation with you. Soon the waiter brought us our bill, I promised myself no more blind dates or my friend I'd have to kill. Written October 7th, 2001 © on Oct 07 2001 01:19 PM PST 0 • 10
