Monster Text Book
By Nici
My brain aches from the thought of studyingThe text book grows giant eyes and jagged teeth. The more I ignore the subjectThe angrier becomes the beast. The words I have written are laughingThe definitions I can't even find.My heart can't take much more of thisI feel I will soon lose my mind. The text book glares at me with angerMy pencil has found a place to hide.Even my trusty neon high-literHas taken a mysterious ride. My throat closes to the point of stangulationMy heart pounds inside my chest.I focus on the evil text bookAnd decide to give it my best.Quickly I grab the text bookI pull it to my side. The text book struggles and growlsAs I grip it by it's spine. The more the text book strugglesThe more I force my strength.I finally open the monster's mouthAnd defeat the text book's defense.Sweat beads off my browand my hands shake with relief. The beast has been defeatedNow, only to face the one next week.
