After the Storms

By OnceUpon

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

After the storms The rain came down, And it saw no sorrow For the hallowed ground, Which knew it had to give A little To allow the others to live A little, Among the bending trees. After the rain, We all did say, That for our futures We would have to pay, And now we had to give A little To allow our kind to live A little Among the many faults. Now with knowledge here We saw our chance And one took the spear The other the lance, But did not fight against each other Instead we fought for one another And found a life Just the other side of Twilight. After the war, We all looked back, And upon the earth There was now a track Which told us that we'd changed A little, And then we knew we'd won A little, And all had not been lost.
