The Loss of a Loved One

By OnceUpon

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

The loss of a loved one Hurt so much more than I first expected, But maybe it has given me the experience I was needing. If I had listened Then this would have never happened And life would have gone on, None the wiser. They say I will soon forget And will not remember all the good times that I had, I would like to believe them I really would. The first is always the hardest And now all I can do is to look back With fond memories Which will never leave me. So forward to the future And with that I know that whatever the past has taught me I will be able to use and understand more Than I would have done.
