Unexplained Death

By OnceUpon

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

The young boy lay there, No breath to breathe, No heart to beat, No nerves to move. He lay, Quite motionless On that still floor. There was noise, But he could not hear. There were sights, But he could not see. People around him Reaching out, But none would touch him, None would wrap their arms around him Not anymore. They would grieve But not feel, Feel for the loss of the young heart, The loss of that twinkle in his eyes, Only he would miss that. He once played in the colourful grass, He once smiled and laughed out loud, He once loved people. But now all there is, is a shell, An empty body. A prayer is said, But that will not change anything, And still the young boy laid there, With no breath to breathe. Written January 18th, 2002 © on Jan 18 2002 07:53 AM PST   0 • 1
