Roller Coaster

By pianogirl

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

How many curves in this roller coaster? Bumps and giggles and fears? Going up to the sound of the clackety-clack. Going down to the rush of the wind in your ears. At the summit, slammed hard to the left and the right. Your stomach is weightless, then drops out of sight. Elevation, once lost, is quickly regained Great distances traveled in gravity's name At the finish you're back where you started again.written: --revised slightly Jan/5-/2001 Written May 31st, 1988 © on May 05 2001 04:24 AM PST    0 • 10
