The Celebration of Life (for Gaboo)

By puref

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

One day at a time, let me walk closer to thee. I trust you with my loved, do not let me forget. Life is a celebration, each day a new guest. Although the sun may leave, and shine upon others, remember it's warmth and tell of it's return. I didn't walk upon water, or part the red sea. Not even heal lepers, much to my dismay. But, I did sit and listen, truthfully and intent, that is my gift that I lay upon your hand. When I am gone, return me to the ground, so that I may be re-born, and see you again. Time is finite, but love sure isn't, I will remember your face, and great you at the gates. One day at a time, let me walk closer to thee. I trust you with my loved, do not let me forget. Life is a celebration, each day a new guest. Although the sun may leave, and shine upon others, remember it's warmth and tell of it's return. For my Grandmother, Gaboo. I will try to live up to your life, and honour your name. Written April 9th, 2002 © on Apr 08 2002 05:00 PM PST   18 • 0 • 12
