An Indomitable Spirit
By Quabben
An Indomitable Spirit As the darkness of night closes in on me I reflect on my life that’s past By circumstance or sheer bad luck I’ve had my trials to bear Battered and bruised, I bore the pain Couldn’t stand straight; but my spirit unbowed Broken and bloody, I bore the pain Couldn’t stand straight; but my spirit unbowed Family and friends, lovers too Have gone to the other side Beyond the veil of the silent night Out of my reach for now Through grief and sorrow, I bore the pain My heart so shattered; but my spirit unbowed Through rivers of tears, I bore the pain My heart in pieces; but my spirit unbowed How do I survive? You may well enquire I cope; with the help of a friend An indomitable spirit; God’s given to meI see lots of sad poems on this site, maybe this will help someone in their sadness.
