I Am A Soldier (hehe)
By Quabben
I am a soldier in command of my men We move with stealth so silently Blood pressure is up, the mission is on My team is tense our goal is near I signal by hand, positions take up We’ll wait till we see the white of the eyes And finish this mission with no loss of life In a short moment our goal looks at me With the speed of a cobra I use the net With the speed of a mongoose our goal moves back The ladder then topples, my team are in fits I’m flat on my back, my command in a mess No longer soldiers my team are my kids Giggling and laughing and making much noise Which calls to my wife, she comes outside ‘Billy’ she shouts ‘stop fooling around You’ll frighten that budgie and scare him to death’ She raises her arm and Bluebeard flies down To cheers from the children she takes him inside I am a soldier, but not today Today I’m a father just out to play Written January 26th, 2002 © on Jan 25 2002 10:44 PM PST 0 • 14
